Piacenza is a city that represent
a bridge between the regions of Lombardia and Emilia
Romagna and its traditions are closely linked to the
mighty River Po.
The city has a solid historical and cultural heritage:
from the conservation of several stretches of the defensive
walls built by Sangallo in the 16th century to the Cathedral
in Romanesque-Gothic style to the imposing City Hall,
known as "the Gothic". The city houses also
many important art collections.
